MHC.1 is the new edition of the prototype of the first modern piece of furniture made by Molteni & C, a chest of drawers designed by Werner Blaser. Although it was never produced on an industrial scale, in 1955 he won the first prize at the Cantù competition “Prima mostra selettiva - Concorso internazionale del mobile”, designed to re-qualify the image of Italian furniture. The jury included Joe Ponti, Alvar Alto, Romano Baroque, Carlo de Carly and Finn Jul. Unusual woodwork is characterized by a simple three-component connection. Following the release of a limited edition of 100 numbered copies, two new unnumbered versions are available with a new wood look with a pattern of honey and ash wood.
